tony's twenty-year high school reunion

In August of 1997 we — the Rhode Island Adamolis, that is — flew to Houston for Tony's 20-year high school reunion.

We made it to Dad's house. (Now why couldn't the boys do this on the plane?)

The reunion was a lot of fun. It started with an ice-breaker held at a club on Friday night, and ended — at least for some — with a formal reception at Lakeside Country Club on Saturday. Of course I could be biased, but I thought we looked terrific! Everyone seemed to be doing so well. I not only had a great time, I rekindled the pride I felt as part of the Stratford High School Class of '77.

The next day, we got together with some old friends for brunch at the Adam's Mark Hotel. Standing outside the hotel, above left and from left to right, are Hal Wilson, whom I've known since junior high; yours truly; Kristin Philbrook; and Marsha McClelland, also at left.

The only real disappointment was the absence of our close friend, Beth Bergle. (Beth, you had better make the next one!) Fortunately, Beth's mom, Bea, took up the slack.

Here is another one of Bea Bergle with her friend Joe.

"More Champagne!" Marsha, Hal, and Kristin sit down for brunch.

After brunch, the family invaded Dolores Moreno's house for the afternoon. Here, Dolores and Dad get acquainted with his new grandson, Nick.

There aren't very many pictures of James with his great-grandfather and namesake (above and above left). James is still a bit afraid of him — those of you who have met Grandpa' will understand this reaction — but after much cajoling (and threatening from his father), James managed to summon up the courage to pose for these pictures.

Still at Dolores' place, we were joined by my cousin and his family. Unfortunately, we don't see much of them, so this was a treat. Left, from left to right, Michael Adamoli, Jim Adamoli, Lisa, and Megan.
